The Gulf is the closest of our major markets and the fastest to serve. Transit from the west coast of India to Jebel Ali is short enough that frozen product arrives with almost all of its shelf life intact, which makes higher-frequency, smaller shipments practical in a way they are not for Europe or East Asia.
What Gulf buyers take from us
- UAE — the region's re-export hub. Shrimp, pomfret, seer fish, emperor fish, cuttlefish; a large share moves onward.
- Saudi Arabia — head-on shell-on shrimp, pomfret, croaker, mixed fin fish for retail and catering.
- Oman & Kuwait — emperor fish, seer fish, black pomfret, cuttlefish skewers.
Head-on shell-on shrimp performs particularly well across the Gulf, where the head is a freshness cue rather than waste. See the shrimp page for the species and counts we hold.
Compliance for the GCC
Gulf importers generally require a health certificate from the Export Inspection Agency, a certificate of origin, and — depending on the emirate or the buyer's own contract — a halal certificate covering the handling and the facility. Municipality-level food import approval (for example Dubai Municipality registration for retail-labelled product) is handled by the importer, and label artwork usually needs approval before the shipment sails. Tell us at enquiry stage which authority you are registering with; the labelling has to be right before production, not corrected at the port.
Logistics
Containers move from Veraval to Mundra or Nhava Sheva and sail to Jebel Ali, Dammam, Sohar or Shuwaikh. Port-to-port transit to Jebel Ali is typically under a week, which is why Gulf buyers can run leaner inventory on Indian-origin product than on almost any other source.
